Some people are actually doing this aka putting “____ is mad at troye” just because he didn’t notice their tweets/layout whatever.
Don’t get me wrong. They’re nice. They meant it as a joke.
But this joke isn’t funny. Troye Sivan and any celebrity for that matter do not owe us anything. No one owes us anything. We ourselves don’t owe anyone anything. And for (an increasing number of) people to ‘jokingly’ say they’re mad at someone or they hate someone just because that someone didn’t notice their tweet/message is just wrong.
I’m sure Troye gets a lot of messages/tweets everyday so he can’t reply or notice /everyone/. He’s only human.
And I don’t want him to wake up and see all this negativity directed towards him that he loses his motivation to do what he loves; making videos and music. I don’t want him to be one of those famous people who delete their social media accounts to get away from hate, even if that hate is a form of a joke.
No one deserves that.
So I’m begging for troye Sivan fans (or anyone for that matter, regardless of whether you’re a fan of him or not) to tweet nice things to troye so that he could at least wake up and see some kind messages; messages that will make him realise that no he isn’t hated. And that there are people who love him.
Dear axe, your ad is horrible. Let me explain how:
1) It objectifies women. 2) It tells young men with female friends that they are not “real men”. 3) It tells young women that “real” men don’t want to be their friends, they only want to “tear” their clothing off. 4) It insults men with braids. 5) It is advertising a crappy body spray.
Okay, that last one was just my opinion. The others are facts.

Yes, Axe’s campaigns have been ridiculous and undermining to women. But you know what? Unilever heard everyone and has been slowly “trying to move away from its narrow, misogynistic views on relationships and sexuality” since 2012 (AdWeek).
For instance, in 2014, you had the Kiss for Peace Super Bowl ad. This year, Axe/Lynx had the Hair: Less Effort, More Style campaign (created by BBH London), which not only wasn’t like their old ads, but it was also inclusive and casually featured two guys kissing.
Look, I’m not saying to forget their past and how they’ve been and the hypocrisy that came from Unilever, but at least look at the effort and that they’re trying to correct it, even if it’s at a slow pace.
Seriously, you can’t only condemn. Look at the progress you’ve helped create too.
